The Stamp Bandits - Over the last three months these ‘stamp bandits’ have hit 13 Post Offices across Sydney.The MO is always the same; the thieves gain access to the premises in the dark of night and force entry. To date they have stolen $148,000 worth of stamps and commemorative coins. Crime Date: These crimes have occurred over the last three months, but on the 18th of May the Stamp Bandits’ go on their most audacious spree yet; They knock over four post offices in just two hours. Since then they’ve struck another post office on June 1st. [i]The Hills Bandit[/b] - The Hills Bandit is alleged to have robbed 10 banks while armed with a firearm, possibly a semi-automatic assault rifle which he has used to threaten staff and customers. During a robbery at Balaklava on 27 June 2008 he used the rifle to threaten a police officer who responded to the hold-up alarm.
