Joe Lycett and guest companion Phil Wang embark on a two-day mini-break in the US capital, Washington, DC. Their home for the weekend is the Eaton Hotel, which features a 24-hour radio station, a plant rehab centre and a crystal library. At the National Mall, the pair take in some of the planet's most recognisable monuments and memorials, including the world's biggest obelisk, aka the Washington Monument, the Reflecting Pool, the Second World War memorial and the Lincoln Memorial.
