1 - 1: Innovation

The first ever challenge seems simple enough.. to design a glamorous outfit for a night out, made only from materials popular Manhattan store… a supermarket. With only a 50$ budget the designers only have an hour to figure out what they can possibly buy at the grocery store that can help them win on the runway. Not only is Mario the out of the market, he's also the first out of the workroom. After half an hour, he is satisfied with his simple shower curtain gown, though the competition is not terribly impressed. Austin, busy shucking corn is also frantic trying to figure out what he is going to do with it when he is done. Mario meanwhile takes about half the time as the rest of the crew does to finish his outfit. While Kara’s outfit seems to be going ok, her model hasn’t showing up causing Kara to use up her valuable time trying to recruit someone walking by on the streets of New York.
