When travel writer Campbell Wallace is contacted by her biological father's wife about a reunion after he abandoned her as a child, she uses it as an opportunity to get to know him and write a profile about him and his community's Père Noel for the holiday season. Upon arriving in Sorrento, Louisiana, she soon finds love in an extended family and with a community leader tasked with hosting her while in town.
