A suicide appears to be a murder with little evidence. Nick and Warrick compete to solve their 100th case to become a CSI level 3. Nick's case is a man who was drugged and robbed by a hooker and Warrick's is a murder where the killer claims self-defense. After Warrick breaks protocol to get a warrant he is forced to babysit Holly Gribbs. The episode ends with the team celebrating Nick being promoted to CSI Level 3 where Brass comes in to inform them that Holly has been shot.
