A woman in the Canadian military shares some of the struggles related to the responsibilities of her service. She awaits a visit from her sister, whom she can always rely on when the burden feels too large. Two friends who have recently realized that they're in love bring brave faces to the unique struggle they face, as one battles a progressive illness and the other must head back to his home country. A woman grapples to accept the changes in her body as a result of her battle with breast cancer while her father comes to celebrate the end of her treatments. A survivor of Hurricane Katrina reflects on the strangers who generously helped him in his time of need, becoming like family to him and restoring his faith in humanity.
